I'm on "stay-cation" this week, meaning that I'm taking a break from my business but I'm not traveling.
So, what am I doing instead? Well, some visiting with friends and family, for sure. I've been logging a lot of extra hours in my home office this summer, between finishing my book and also having a wonderful abundance of Greyhounds in Need of Adoption (GINA) and I'm eagerly waiting to hear back and schedule my home visit.
As a first-time dog owner, I'm very excited about this new phase of my life.
I've already done lots to prepare, but I'll be spending more time reading, researching and budgeting this week. The most important thing I need to do is clear some space, to make room for the dog and let her know there is space for her in my home and in my life.
Even though I did a major clutter clearing years ago when I began my self-care journey (with the help of Karen Kingston's Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui), there was some stuff I held on to, and some new stuff I've acquired since then.
I set the goal of combining my two full bookcases into one, and I'm think when I'm done I'll actually have some room to spare. Another gift this dog is giving to my life, and she isn't even here yet!
