I was recently challenged by Andrea J. Lee and other esteemed thought leaders to take a stand in my business. And not only that, but to hold myself, my readers and my clients accountable for staying aligned with that vision.
The first result (there WILL be others) is this Content Creation Manifesto, delivered in seven parts. As I publish each part, I will add the links to the titles below.
P.S. I borrowed this format from Leesa Barnes, who shared a wonderful example of a strong manifesto. Thanks, Leesa!
Content Creation Manifesto #1 – You need to be writing
Content Creation Manifesto #2 – Writing is coaching
Content Creation Manifesto #3 – Good writing is pointless
Content Creation Manifesto #4 – Self-care is not an option
Content Creation Manifesto #4b – It’s all been said before (added Jan 27, 2011)
Content Creation Manifesto #5 – Some people won’t like you
Content Creation Manifesto #6 – Spelling counts
Content Creation Manifesto #7 – Automation is personal
If these ideas resonate with you, please keep in touch by signing up for email updates. There is a form on the top right-hand side of this page. We will never sell or share your personal information.

YES YES YES! Writing IS coaching. Coaching yourself (when you write). Coaching clients (when you write for/with clients).
Aaah. I’m exhaling already 😉

Hi Karri – that’s such a great point about coaching yourself while you write. I know you’re going to be sharing more with us soon re: your ideas about self-actualization through writing – can’t wait!!!!
Thanks for the comments,
Linda

Linda…what I loved most about your post was the idea of taking a stand. I just did a webinar on that yesterday as I was speaking to coaches about how to be more confident in their coaching and in selling their coaching. Take a stand. Be slightly controversial. It’s powerful, empowering, and liberating to do this. Quite frankly, I think it’s one of the most important lessons coaches need to learn to be the most effective coach for their clients. Thanks for sharing and glad you’re taking a stand.

Hi Marc,
Thanks for your kind words. Great that we’re aligned with this.
Thanks also for your contributions to the VOICE newsletter.
All the best,
